About AI Socratic
Editorial policy
Standards for reporting, practical resources, and community contributions.
Effective September 5, 2026. These standards guide new work and the review of our existing archive.
Sources and attribution
We distinguish original work from reporting on someone else’s findings. News should link to original announcements, papers, repositories, or firsthand accounts where available. A source’s claim remains attributed to that source; unresolved or disputed claims should be identified rather than presented as established facts. Publication dates and incident dates are kept separate.
Methods and results
Technical comparisons should describe the workload, model and software versions, configuration, acceptance criteria, costs, sample size, and failures. Methods and worksheets are labeled as resources, not experiments we have already performed. We do not invent measurements, client outcomes, guest identities, or affiliations.
Authorship and review
Article bylines identify contributors responsible for the text. A named expert review is credited only when that person has actually reviewed the work. Contributors should explain relevant experience and conflicts. Community participation or a company affiliation does not imply endorsement by an employer.
AI assistance
AI tools may assist with discovery, drafting, editing, and code. Publication remains an editorial decision. Material claims and citations require checking against their sources. An AI-generated summary is not independent corroboration, and generated examples must not be presented as firsthand observations.
Corrections and substantive updates
Send a correction with the article URL, the statement in question, and supporting evidence using the contact link below. Material corrections should explain what changed in the article. Substantive editorial changes update the article’s modification date; homepage placement and other administrative changes do not.
Sponsorship and commercial relationships
Sponsored material, affiliate links, supplied review access, and relevant commercial relationships should be disclosed near the affected content. Event sponsorship does not establish a product’s technical quality. Community feedback should not be described as a verified customer outcome without evidence.
Community contributions
Submissions enter a review process. Editors may request better sourcing, clearer attribution, or revisions before publication. Public links should resolve to public content; private member information stays behind its intended access controls.
